Un supermercado, poco antes de cerrar. Un despistado joven que necesita pasar por caja. Una irritable cajera loca por irse a casa. Un estricto supervisor en busca de alguien a quien despedir. Un enorme guardia de seguridad al borde de un ataque de nervios. Dos minutos para el cierre… Y pese a todo, Increíblemente, puede surgir el amor. 

Tengo mucho cariño a "Checkout" porque fue el primer corto de animación que escribí. Y porque me abrió las puertas a este mundo, tras ganar cuatro premios de guión, ganar la ayuda del ICAA a cortometraje, ser producido, estrenado y pre-seleccionado para los Premios Goya 2010 (categoría Corto de Animación).

A supermarket, just before closing time. A young dropout waiting to pay. An irritable cashier who can’t wait to go home. A supervisor on the lookout for someone to fire. A huge security guard on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Two minutes until closing time and… incredible though it may seem, love can blossom. 

I love "Checkout" because it was the first animation short I wrote. And because it opened me the gates to a new world, after winning four screenwriting prizes, earning funding from the ICAA, being produced, premiered and pre-elected for the Goya Awards 2010 (Best Animation Short Category).
