En marzo de 2017 se publicó mi primera novela gráfica con Ricard Efa, “Monet, Nómada de la Luz”. Poco después, vino “El fotógrafo de Mauthausen” y a día de hoy, solo un lustro después, puedo decir que cuando termine 2022 habré publicado quince títulos.

Con esta ocasión, solo puedo agradecer a los lectores, editores, a mis colegas dibujantes y al mundo del cómic lo bien que me ha recibido. Un agradecimiento que reitero a los dibujantes, coloristas y artistas que han decidido colaborar conmigo para dar forma y color a estas historias.

Para mi es un sueño cumplido: tengo el privilegio de contar todas las historias que tengo dentro, sobre los temas y personajes que más me apasionan. Y no solo en castellano: toda esta obra se ha traducido a once idiomas. En este tiempo Ricard ha sido nominado a un Eisner y nos premiaron como “Cómic histórico del año” en el prestigiado Salón del Comic de Bruselas. 

Espero que esto sea solo el principio, y que además de seguir escribiendo novelas, ensayos y guiones de cine, pueda seguir contándoos muchas historias mas: ya hay, de hecho, unas cuantas en preparación de las que os hablaré en su debido momento.

In March 2017, my first graphic novel (with Ricard Efa) was published. Soon after, in 2018, came “The Photographer of Mauthausen” and only five years later I can say that when 2022 comes to an end I will have released fifteen titles.

On this occasion, I can only thank readers, editors, my fellow artists and the comic scene for their welcome. A big thanks that I insist upon regarding pencillers and colorists which have decided to collaborate with me to give shape to these stories.

For me, this is a fulfilled dream: I have the privilege of telling all the stories that I’m fascinated about, about the characters I love most. Not only in Spanish: my oeuvre has been already translated to eleven languages. During this time, Ricard has been nominated to an Eisner award and we sere awarded “Historic novel of the year” in the prestigious Brussels Comic Book Fair.

I hope this is only the beginning and that besides writing more novels, essays and film scripts, I can still tell you many stories: there are, in fact, quite a few I’m working on right now, which I’ll tell you about in due time.
