Max: Rubio y Rubén adaptan a Pérez-Reverte
Max: Rubio and Rubén adapt Pérez-Reverte

It is our pleasure to announce that writer and academic Arturo Pérez-Reverte has entrusted Ruben del Rincón (art) and Salva Rubio (writing) a series of graphic novels based in his literarly novel "El Tango de la Guardia Vieja".

The book tells the adventures of dancer, thief, spy and ladies' man Max Costa throughout several decades, as he crisscrosses his way with the love of his life, Mecha Inzunza. However, the character is mentioned to have lived several other loves, crimes, misfortunes and aventures which we, as authors, have developed with entire liberty.

The series is titled "Max" and it has been already published in France through Editions du Long Bec (Strasbourg). The first issue of the collection is "Le Silence après le Tango" and it narrates the youth of the main character in 1920s Barcelona, among delinquents, ruffians, nights in the cabaret "La Criolla" and a dangerous near-civil war. Max will also witness firsthand the horrible War of th Rif.

We hope there will be several editions in other languages, among them, Spanish. More information, here.
